The online database, known as PowerLine, will feature case studies showcasing practices in all phases of electric transmission projects—from pre-planning and planning to construction, operation, and maintenance. PowerLine will be updated regularly to include the latest projects in the constantly changing field of electric transmission.
“PowerLine was designed to help energy developers, utility operators, land managers, environmental professionals, and concerned citizens stay up-to-date on best practices in environmental mitigation for electric transmission,” said John Shepard, senior adviser with the Sonoran Institute. “Each case study will include a brief summary and links to additional information including maps, contacts, and important documents.”
