The third annual Days of Connection Biodiversity Fiesta celebrating the Save our Saguaros month is taking place in the Paseo de Iglesias of the Santa Cruz River right next door to Las Milpitas Community Farm. Join Tucson Clean and Beautiful, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, Pima County, Tucson Bird Alliance, Pima County Co-op Extension, United Way and other partners as we come together to celebrate the SOS Biodiversity Fiesta through a day of fun, stewardship and connecting with nature and community!
Day of Connection is happening on Saturday, February 28th between 9AM-12PM at and next door to Las Milpitas Community Farm located at 2405 S Cottonwood Ln, Tucson, AZ 85713
These experiences bring together local groups and individual passionate about the natural world and environmental stewardship. At this Day of Connection, you can expect to;
- Enjoy music, snacks and beautiful green space with a broad community of stewardship and nature lovers.
- Steward the Santa Cruz by picking up trash with TCB and Sonoran Institute or learn to identify and remove invasive plant species with specialists from Pima County Co-op Extension and Tucson Bird Alliance.
- Meet live animals from the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and experience nature/art workshops at the garden.
- Experience the on-going community efforts in the area being led by Las Milpitas and members of the Southern Arizona Community Food Bank.
- Connect with Educators with Pima County Conservation Lands and Resources and Regional Flood Control District to learn more about what our county is doing to conserve and celebrate our public lands.
