Green Drinks Tucson is excited to connect our community to companies that support volunteerism with nonprofit organizations working across Southern Arizona.
Featured Guest Speakers:

Micaela Varela, President-Elect of the Southern Arizona Volunteer Management Association and Volunteer Coordinator at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Originally from Albuquerque, she moved to Tucson in 2017 to serve with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, later earning a Master of Public Administration from the University of Arizona and continuing her work supporting volunteers in Southern Arizona. The Southern Arizona Volunteer Management Association (SAVMA) is a Tucson-based nonprofit professional association that supports Volunteer Engagement Professionals across Southern Arizona. SAVMA promotes excellence in volunteer management through training, resources, and networking opportunities.
Wendy Erica Werden, Manager of Community Investment and Philanthropy
at Tucson Electric Power, is an award-winning community engagement and brand manager with more than 25 years of outreach, marketing, media and strategic development experience. She began her career with a TV affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio – then moved to Tucson, Arizona. Here she has experience with associations, businesses, environmental non-profits, and media entities including PBS and NPR affiliates through the University of Arizona. She joined Arizona Congressman Ron Barber’s office as Outreach and Deputy District Director in 2012, and re-joined the Tucson Electric Power/UniSource Energy team in early 2015 as the Manager of Community Investment where she manages donations totaling more than $2 million annually and activates hundreds of active employee volunteers who engage with their local communities. She recently completed her Masters in Organizational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
