There’s a lot to share from the Growing Water Smart network this month, from our first peer-reviewed journal article to a timely webinar on the Colorado River negotiations. The new peer-reviewed research highlights the GWS approach and the tangible outcomes it has generated in the San Luis Valley, the Verde Watershed, and along the US/Mexico border. These case studies affirm what we see every year in our workshops. When communities get dedicated time and space to plan for water resilience, real action follows.
We saw this firsthand at the fifth Utah GWS workshop in June, where seven community teams developed action plans to meet the state’s new water planning requirements head-on.
