Summer is here, and across the Southwest, the season reminds us of just how precious water is. From Colorado’s headwaters to the communities of Northern Mexico, the landscapes we work in are shaped by water: its presence, its absence, and the decisions we make together about how to use it wisely.
This issue highlights a recently completed technical assistance project and how Growing Water Smart continues to engage with and support the Peer Network through targeted webinars. We spotlight the Little Thompson Water District’s data-driven work to develop outdoor water use efficiency goals for its Water Efficiency Plan, a meaningful step toward smarter residential water management. We are also looking ahead to July 16th, when we will convene for a webinar on the ongoing Colorado River negotiations, featuring expert perspectives on what the outcome of those talks could mean for communities across the Southwest and Northern Mexico.
