This FREE event is a venue for learning about research and conservation efforts while exploring the Santa Cruz River’s natural and cultural resources. With this year’s theme, A Watershed of Protection, we’re highlighting several public land protection and management efforts that have helped protect the river and its surrounding watershed over the last 25 years. With diverse speakers and real-time English–Spanish translation, we aim to inspire new research questions, strengthen your professional network, catalyze collaborative projects, and foster awareness of research and conservation efforts.
Este evento GRATUITO es un lugar para aprender sobre los esfuerzos de investigación y conservación mientras se exploran los recursos naturales y culturales del río Santa Cruz. Con el tema de este año, Una cuenca protegida, destacamos diversos esfuerzos de protección y manejo de tierras públicas que han contribuido a proteger el río y su cuenca hidrográfica circundante durante los últimos 25 años. Con diversos oradores y traducción del inglés al español en tiempo real, nuestro objetivo es inspirar nuevas preguntas de investigación, fortalecer redes profesionales, catalizar nuevos proyectos de colaboración y fomentar la conciencia sobre los esfuerzos de investigación y conservación.

Santa Cruz River Research Days is part of Sonoran Institute’s Santa Cruz River program. Our focus is to invest in water for the environment and communities along the Santa Cruz River. Our goal for the Santa Cruz is to retain flowing reaches and restore conditions throughout the watershed. We envision a future where a revitalized river corridor is an integral part of our community that strengthens our local economy and reconnects residents of the area to the river. Los Días de Investigación del Río Santa Cruz son parte del programa del río Santa Cruz (en inglés) del Sonoran Institute. Nuestro enfoque es invertir en agua para el medio ambiente y las comunidades a lo largo del río Santa Cruz. Nuestro objetivo para Santa Cruz es retener los tramos con agua superficial y restaurar las condiciones en toda la cuenca. Visualizamos un futuro en el que un corredor fluvial revitalizado sea una parte integral de nuestra comunidad, fortaleciendo nuestra economía local y reconectando a los residentes del área con el río.
