This International Women’s Day, we want to continue to uplift and amplify the voices of marginalized communities, celebrate the work we have done and look towards an equitable water future. Starting by reminiscing on the milestones we were able to take part in last year.

This past November, in partnership with Planet Women, the Indigenous Women’s Leadership Network, The Chapter House and the San Xavier District of the Tohono O’odham Nation, we collaborated on a historic convening: Women & Water: A New Store Begins on the Colorado River.

This powerful summit brought women from all aspects of the incredibly important work being done along the Colorado River together to share their work, aspirations, and visions for the future of the Colorado River and the people that rely on its waters. Together, we created plans and cultivated a community where all voices are heard and respected.
